We're here to help you care for your pet.

PawVitals is a private, on-device app for tracking the health of a dog or cat with diabetes, kidney disease, epilepsy, or the everyday needs of a senior pet. If anything isn't working or you have a question, reach out — a real person will reply.

Getting started

Open PawVitals and add your pet (name, species, birthday, and any condition). Then use Quick log or the + button to record glucose, insulin, medications, weight, symptoms, water, and activity. The Today tab shows the latest at a glance, and Trends turns your entries into charts.

How do medication reminders work?

When you add a medication with a schedule, PawVitals sets local reminders on your device. Make sure notifications are allowed for PawVitals in iOS Settings → Notifications. Reminders repeat on the schedule you set, and you can mark each dose as given or skipped.

What's free, and what does PawVitals Plus add?

Everyday tracking, insights, and the walk planner are free for one pet. PawVitals Plus is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks unlimited pets, the vet-summary PDF, keepsake slideshow videos, and live device connections. Vaccine and preventative records, lab results, insights and the walk planner stay free.

How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?

Open PawVitals → Settings → and tap Restore purchase while signed in to the same Apple ID you bought with. Your PawVitals Plus features will unlock again at no extra cost.

How do I export a summary for my vet?

Open your pet's profile and choose Export vet summary (PDF). PawVitals asks which period to cover (30 days, 90 days, 6 months or a year) and builds a clean report — glucose stats, medication adherence, weight change, vaccines, lab results, quality of life, and patterns to discuss — that you can share or print in a tap. (Vet-summary PDF is a PawVitals Plus feature.)

How do I connect a CGM or other device?

Go to Settings → Connected devices. You can sync a Nightscout CGM site, Apple Health walks, a Sure Petcare or FitBark account, or a Bluetooth scale/meter. Any credentials you enter are stored securely in your device's Keychain and are never sent to us. (Device sync is a PawVitals Plus feature; CSV import is free.)

How do I share a pet with my family or a pet sitter?

Open Settings → Care circle, tap Share next to your pet, then send the link with Messages, WhatsApp, email or any app (or copy it). Whoever opens it on an iPhone with PawVitals installed and iCloud on joins the circle. They see the medication list and recent care and can log doses, glucose, weight, meals and notes, which land in your records with their name. Under Active in your circles you can see who joined, review what they logged, correct entries for 48 hours, remove a person, or stop sharing so the link ends at once. Creating a link is a PawVitals Plus feature. (Care circle needs version 1.2.)

I was invited to someone's pet. Where is it?

After you open the link, PawVitals opens that pet. Later you can find it under Settings → Care circle → Shared with you, and on Today under Looking after. Shared pets never appear on your own Pets tab. Joining is free for up to 4 circles; Plus lets you join more and shows what is due next, with reminders.

How do I add or change my pet's photo?

Open the pet, tap Edit, then Add photo (or Change photo). Take a picture or choose one from your library, then drag and pinch to fit it inside the circle and tap Use photo.

Can I fix an entry I logged by mistake?

Yes. Open History (from the pet's screen or Today) and tap any entry from the last 48 hours to correct it. Older entries can be deleted but not changed, so the record your vet has seen stays the same.

Is my data private? Where is it stored?

Yes. PawVitals does not collect your data. Your pet's records stay on your device and sync only through your own Apple iCloud — we never see or store them. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I move to a new phone or keep a backup?

With iCloud enabled, your records sync to your new iPhone automatically when you sign in with the same Apple ID. You can also create a manual backup file from Settings → Save full backup, and restore it later from the same screen.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual records or a whole pet inside the app, or delete the app to remove on-device data. You can remove the iCloud copy from your Apple ID settings. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing to request from us.

Is PawVitals a medical tool?

No. PawVitals helps you track and share your pet's health. It is not a veterinary or diagnostic tool and never recommends medication doses. Always follow your veterinarian's guidance and contact them about any health concern.
